Seasons Interrupted with Trey Lee

International cellist, Trey Lee, to release album recorded with the ECO next month.

We’re excited to share with you the release of an album we recorded with cellist Trey Lee earlier this year which is available a month from today. The recording explores the impacts of climate change through the music of Schubert, Piazzolla, and Kirmo Lintinen.

“With the cello as a platform, I seek a sober yet trenchant means to tell the story of our seasons, and concurrently, create a musical narrative to account for how this crisis unfolds. This album is a journey across our world from the past to the present, and finally, to an increasingly plausible future through the prism of works by three composers from three eras.” – Trey Lee

We are looking forward to performing in concert with Trey Lee, the Hong Kong-born, Berlin-based cellist of international renown, next month as part of the Musicus Festival in Hong Kong of which he is Artistic Director and do keep an eye out for our London concert with Trey which will feature the Piazzolla this coming September, tickets will be on sale soon.

The album will be released by Signum Classics and will be available from 17 May 2024 and has two world premiere recordings of new arrangements for both cello and piano, and cello and orchestra by Trey Lee.
