Mozart, Arnold & Gipps at Cadogan Hall

21 April, 2027 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

venue

Cadogan Hall, London

Mozart’s timeless genius in dialogue with British musical innovation. In this series of three concerts, hear works that sometimes echo, sometimes reinvent and sometimes challenge the clarity, balance and expressive freedom of the Classical era.

Malcolm Arnold’s Serenade for Small Orchestra is featured in the opening concert as it brings wit, colour and character to a musical form with roots stretching back to Mozart’s own time.

It is paired with two of Mozart’s finest piano concertos: the radiant intimacy of No. 23 in A major and the grandeur and brilliance of No. 25 in C major, performed by the award-winning rising star Alon Kariv, one of the most distinguished young pianists today.

Bringing us right into the 1980’s there’s Ruth Gipps’ wistfully lilting Ambarvalia, short and playful, brilliantly virtuosic.

“Kariv is a musician of intellect, integrity and talent… technically, beyond criticism.” Classical Explorer
