About Danbury Ridge

A distinctive expression of English wine

Founded in 2012, Danbury Ridge is a family-owned and managed wine estate in Essex’s Crouch Valley, established to explore the potential for world-class still wine production in England. From the outset, the estate has focused on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, grown on its own sites, with an emphasis on site selection, low yields, detailed viticulture and a long-term commitment to sustainability.

More than a decade later, Danbury Ridge has become one of the UK’s leading producers of still wine, helping to redefine expectations of English Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Its approach is rooted in a detailed understanding of its vineyards, from soils and rootstocks to clones and site expression, producing wines that reflect the character of their individual sites.

Danbury Ridge also produces Solstice, a multi-vintage English sparkling wine built around a perpetual reserve. Its still wines have received growing international recognition, with the 2023 Octagon Block Chardonnay recently ranked among the top three Chardonnays in the world at London Wine Fair’s 2026 Greatest Chardonnay Showdown.

Danbury Ridge is proud to support the English Chamber Orchestra Royal Gala as its Exclusive Red and White Wine Partner.

Both winemaking and orchestral performance depend on bringing distinct elements together in harmony. At Danbury Ridge, each vineyard has its own character, shaped by soil, climate, variety and clone while the role of the winemaker is to understand those individual qualities and bring them together with judgement, restraint and balance.

The partnership unites two English organisations with a shared commitment to craft, expression and excellence, presenting Danbury Ridge’s still Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in a setting that celebrates the very best of English creativity.
