The Four Seasons at Dorking Halls

The English Chamber Orchestra visits Dorking Halls by kind invitation of Dorking Concertgoers for an evening of much-loved Baroque and Classical masterpieces.

Directed by Stephanie Gonley, the programme opens with Handel’s radiant Concerto Grosso in A major, Op. 6 No. 11, a work of grandeur and warmth. Bach’s expressive Concerto for Oboe and Violin in C minor, BWV 1060 follows, featuring Juliana Koch as oboe soloist alongside the violin, showcasing Bach’s lyrical intensity and contrapuntal brilliance.

The second half celebrates two of the most recognisable works in the orchestral repertoire: Mozart’s elegant and joyful Eine kleine Nachtmusik, and Vivaldi’s ever-popular The Four Seasons, a vivid musical journey through the changing year that continues to captivate audiences.
