English Chamber Orchestra

Direct Answer & Membership Introduction

Become Part of What Makes the Music Possible

Membership is more than a subscription or a collection of benefits. It is a decision to stand behind an orchestra whose future depends on people who believe exceptional music should remain alive, accessible and open to generations still to come.

By becoming a member, you help the English Chamber Orchestra sustain performances, widen access to classical music, create opportunities for children and young people, and support the artists who will shape its future. Your involvement turns a personal connection with music into something that can reach far beyond a single concert.

Membership also gives the ECO something that ticket sales and occasional gifts alone cannot provide: dependable support, confidence to plan ahead and the freedom to develop work with lasting artistic and charitable value.

You do not need to be a musical expert, a long-standing supporter or a major philanthropist. You simply need to believe that music matters—and that it should continue to be performed, shared and discovered.

Choose the membership route that reflects the relationship you would like to build with the Orchestra.

Friends of the ECO

Join individually or together with someone close to you. Friends receive selected member benefits, regular updates and opportunities to feel more connected to the Orchestra while providing dependable support the ECO can plan around.

Patrons of the ECO

Patrons provide more significant annual support and develop a more personal relationship with the ECO, its work and its mission. Patronage supports the Orchestra as a whole rather than being linked to one musician or chair.

The ECO 1960 Circle

Named for the year the ensemble became the English Chamber Orchestra, the 1960 Circle is an invitation-led community of significant annual and multi-year supporters. Membership is developed privately through discussion and approval.
