It is an honour for us to be part of the Úbeda Festival, performing at the beautiful Hospital de Santiago Auditorium, a remarkable setting with such a rich cultural history. This concert marks the second performance on tour of this programme, and we are delighted to share it as part of this distinguished festival.
The programme is centred on Beethoven, opening with Arriaga’s Overture in D major, a bright and confident work by the composer often known as the “Spanish Mozart”. We then move to Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4, celebrated for its lyrical dialogue between soloist and orchestra. The evening concludes with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4, a work full of energy, wit and momentum.
